Agencies applied to Re: Code Enforcement Judgment 17-00323-mpm

I called the office of Jay Banks, my District City Councilman. His liason gave me contact info for United Saints Recovery Project, an agency he thought would help me.

United Saints Recovery Project is the first agency that I contacted without success.

I next contacted Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans as they sometimes have restoration grants but currently have none.

Roots of Renewal is the third agency that I contacted who took about three weeks to decline helping me.

Rebuilding Together is the 4th agency I contacted. I thought they were going to help me because my liaison called to ask me to write a somewhat lengthy letter about my life because the volunteers like to know about the people they are helping, so I finally had relief from fear. I was stunned that wasted a month and a half of my time to then tell me NO!!

I contacted  Preservation Resource Center not realizing that Rebuilding Together was an arm of the PRC!!

I googled  Habitat for Humanity but it said that they provide help constructing homes and modifications for homeowners but painting was not listed.

I called Patrice Fisher, a non-profit called Musicians for Music who helped me when the city first tried to make me loose my home by raising my taxes 1000% and cancelling my signed document where I had been given a homestead exemption!!! .... a loooong story .... but my needs now are beyond their scope.

Matt Schoenberger,  Community Engagement Liaison for Jay Banks, Councilmember District B has been trying to help me so he called  Catholic Charities for me since a cold call takes time and an official call from City Hall gets quick answers, but they said that they cannot help me.

I called the Council on Aging and spoke with Irma who gave me the number to call the St Bernard Project. I was connected with  but was only able to leave a message.

I spoke with Alex, client services at the St Bernard Project, who said that they could not help me because they only work of single family homes and mine is technically a duplex. As I do, I asked Alex if he knew of any other agency that could help me and he suggested Youth Rebuilding New Orleans,

Called Youth Rebuilding New Orleans left message ... no return call.

I called the Council on Aging again to ask Irma if she could think of anyone else to contact. She suggested that I call Weatherization Program in Baton Rouge and speak to Jerry 225.209.0724.  googled website  https://www.benefits.gov/benefit/1857. Of course they cannot help me but he kindly made several suggestions that I had already contacted. Then he suggested that I call United Way.

Called United Way .. phone rang and rang and rang

IRMA also suggested that I call TCA (Total Community Action) but I called all 3 number that just give messages and no one answers phones!!!I But none of the recordings listing their services mention help with homes.

Called United Way again the next day .. was able to leave a message

Googled but could not find any title that seemed appropriate on their staff directory ? Chief Human Resource Officer Carol Gstohl <carolg@unitedwaysela.org>,

Patrice Fisher from Musicians for Music approached Habitat for Humanity on my behalf by contacting Andrew Bagnato, the Program Outreach Manager for "A Brush with Kindness" (ABWK), the arm for Habitat for Humanity.  He emailed me the application and a list of requirements necessary to compile prior to him giving me as assessment appointment.

However I just learned that they have about 30 people waiting to have their houses inspected since OCTOBER!!!

MY ONLY OPTION NOW IS TO RAISE FUNDS TO HIRE SOMEONE TO BEGIN PAINTING IMMEDIATELY!!!
